In Lucky Dragon, you play as one of four employees at a Chinese restaurant. At the end of the month, 3 of the 4 employees will get fired. The game is about sabotaging or teaming up with other players to maintain your reputation and not get fired.
The gameplay was inspired by Secret Hitler, and deceive is a huge part in the game. There's no forever friend or enemy. There's no movement in our game because we deem that to be the most boring aspect of most board game.
We have a visually engaging theme and design. The board is the overhead view of the restaurant, while the box is the restaurant itself.
We have received very positive feedback from players. We plan on refining the game more and participate in board game competition, or even release it commercially. As of now we have patented the game.
In this project I worked with 3 other talented game developers. We all contributed to the game design in general. I was in charged of the cards (text, graphics and stats) and the construction of the board game.
